INVOCATION

bamishayedavid01

Let this rain wash her miserable yore

Like Naaman in the Jordan river

Let this pen cure her hemorrhage

Of the centuries and nail her sin to cross.

Let all those who loathe this land perish

Like Pharaoh’s army in the Red sea—

May the eyes of those who beguile us

Into the incessant darkness survive not,

The furor of this gloam

Let all those who love this land be great!

The tree does not lament the stride of the birds

And land does not belch the trunk of the tree

Let there be serenity in the North and the East

The rage of the wind does not blind the cloud

when the sun shines

The face of the earth blooms

Let there be Felicity in the West and the south.

The sea does not spurn

the glee eyes of the fish

Let the prodigal son and daughter

of this land retrieved

Let all the fractured hope

And dreams be restored.
