Serenity

I descend gradually from
peaked mountains
and alpine forests with
gentle firefly flickers
fertile plains are abandoned
to serene whispers
and a soul drenched in
secrets of woven threads

warm granular shores
scented with your memory
white sands carved by
conspired forces of need
the ocean waves mirror
liquid eyes of blue champagne
and coffee tinted skin
with the winds of my prayer

a copper skimmed horizon
which radiates tranquility
as serene whispers
escape unpainted lips
sweet spiritual currents
in amongst rocks and shoals
sits a jewelled satin
carapace tinctured with sin

a plunge into devotion
lithe dance on pearls of promise
drowned in cries of deep need
soft rhythm of glorious skies
effervescence risen to the surface
sign of a sweet water ballet
ride the surf to the spire
to savour sweetness

a sea breeze blows with
the fluidity of unfurled silk
and leaves me to inhale
your sweet spiritual release
I am quiet as a frozen river
passion in total eclipse
a silent gaze of recognition
as shadows seek company
