The tears of then

In The Shadows

The room was sad,

As one expected it to be.

The boy shivered as he cried,

The tears harshly dripped down his cheeks.

The snot ran down his face,

His eyes now bloodshot red.

His hair a wild mess,

Like a bird’s net.

The weight of his tears,

Holding him back.

Even amongst his positive attributes,

He only thinks of things he lacks.

The room a mess,

Just like his mind.

His finger nails chipped and bleeding,

He bit them as he regretted taking the bribe.

But he is now strong,

Strong as he always wanted to be.

The tears of then,

Making him now free.
