What is To Be Done?

Doggerel Dave

Interest rates rise to curb inflation.

Folks left between a rock and a hard place.

Economist banker saves the nation…….

Your average punter is not in the race.

Humans require shelter to survive:

But as a form of capital and wealth

This manages for many to deprive

Them of a home, wellbeing and their health.

Not only but also prices are rising

At a rapid rate; Inflation they call it.

Now here, believe me, I’m just surmising -

“What is to be done?” - You haven’t thought it?

How true how right, recounting our last pennies is like rearranging deck chairs on a listing Titanic!

Seems to be so tied up right now that there is a total lack of accountability -all commentary and burble, but no action where it counts.

You nail the situation that is affecting the whole governmental structurein loads of countries Dave - - sovery true that "Your average punter is not in the race."

Maybe it is all an illusion Fay, and maybe I've just caught that disease 'it was better in the past' that comes to so many of my vintage, but in these particular areas, management of the economy and social justice, I do think, without bias, that it was. I'm not talking about the middle ages, just thirty or forty years ago.

Well rhymed, well timed. I approach politics like a crime scene with the first question being: who has a motive? Who has something to gain, a means of accomplishing it and no alibi. Then I tell myself, that's why nothing is being done.

Thanks Soren - I'm just about to pump out something to which you have just added a nice response early.

it is indeed such a worrying time and for so many .. I know I have said it before, but on average, politicians kill more people per year than many opiates ..

One of my heroes (in addition to that ex habitué of Hydra) was, still is, Bertolt Brecht. He would be agreeing with you, I think. I have in the past hunted through masses of material on the net to locate that very thought I heard in a review somewhere years ago. Without success. Anyway, there’s at least three of us……

three is enough to make a cult in my book 🙂
