Sincerely, Marie

Dear anonymous,

I fed pigs today.

You’re the first person I wanted to share my excitement with

The smell of the fresh grass reminds me of us feeding ducks-

when we made six months and again for my birthday

You took me to your sanctuary; I remember when I was that for you, too

I’m envious of the families around me.

The two parent households my kids will never have,

The two parent households neither of us did-

The two parent households we could’ve been

& though I lug my heart around this farm,

I think I’ll still enjoy this moment

With love, always,

Me

Interesting slightly enigmatic piece which kept my attention,

Should you intend to stay, it would be good if you could tell us something about yourself plus read and respond to other's poems.
