Abandoned rejection

martie borthwick

I now found

What rejection truly means

Abandoned by many

Accepted by few

All of them just made my skies blue

Was so lost within being found

Yet, all I wanted was to be seeked

I changed the meaning

By seeking self-worth

So that rejection isn't that painful

What rejection truly means

Is when the hearts ceases to abandon itself,

In the darkness

  • Comment from author about the poem: In a world where we are seeking approval on social media or even in the world we live in, it is within everyday society that we get rejected and abandoned by many, yet accepted by few. I reflected on this poem for three weeks and finally got the guts to write, I have been let down this year, by so many people feeling rejected triggers your belonging somewhere, a little bit. Thus poem goes out to each and every single human being who feels left out or abandoned. May you know your worth and remember you are your own home, Love from my heart to yours M
