Beatrice, Lucrezia and Simonetta
Muses of Dante, Lorenzo and Botticelli,
Everybody knows these names,
The last of an age,
Inspiration, art and beauty,
Love, lust and desire,
Fame, vanity and power.
What do all these have in common?
The bank indeed knows and owns all,
With its eye fixed upon the heart of men,
Waiting for them to fall,
So, it may consume all,
Indeed, this was the Florentine way,
During the Italian Renaissance.
