Between Courses
Between courses
and from somewhere behind ..
He drizzled wild honey
from the nape
of her neck to the V at the very
base of her spine ..
Then they made love there
and then
at the table and showered
together until
the water ran cool and the
salt flower flowered ..
What then remained
of the evening
was casually frittered away ..
Dining on oysters
and local wild fruits ..
While sipping chilled dessert wine
from cracked champagne flutes ..

- Comment from author about the poem: Before anyone asks, yes .. almost all of this is true ... except that is for the dessert wine & champagne flutes .. it was in fact Chablis & the glasses some kind of crystal .. mine I remember was chipped at the base :)

A chipped champagne flute glass! Now that just won't do! Very observant with all that is about you Nev. Good man.
Depends entirely on the way one looks at it, sometimes it's a blessing but it can also be something of a curse 🙂
In the Algarve, or where?
Spot on DD 🙂
Deeply rich and reflective write, Nev. Filled me with nostalgia seasoned with just the merest pinch of envy........
(As a diabetic, the honey would have shot my BSL to pieces.....🙂)
Who wouldn't remember that delectable eating and drinking and what happened after - - showers are fantastic together - - cool and hot read today my romantic dearling.
Fond recollections Fay I used to be such a norty boy but now I'm neither ......... Thanking you kindly 🙂 x
Have I met her? I can't recall... lol.
I think I saw you thrown around her shoulders one evening after drinks when she found you slumped over the back of a chair & mistook you for her faux fur stole .. I guess it could have been a lot worse though for both of ya .. she could have thought you were her muff .. oops sorry Fido 🙂
I must have forgot to add water to me tipple that time! lol.
