sunflowers

JoyJoy

She had the tendency to captivate your attention

The ability to make you turn your head

The care to warm you

The skill to hold your gaze

The delicacy of touching you

The power to make you desire her

A fearless love

A constant obsession

But when she left

Night came, and the lights went out

Our heads went down

We began waiting again.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sunflowers are without a doubt my absolute favorite flower. Besides their undeniable beauty, I think what I love most about them is the meaning they hold.
