thursday winds

dusk arising

on schoolday thursday winds
came the promise of forever
with its strawberry edged ripeness
oh how we flew into the weekends overflowing
till sunday found us spent
and squeeky clean behind those
monday morning inspection ears
all ready for bed
and homework done

Reminds me of middle school and carefree days spent in the playgrounds, missing school periods too lol. Loved how your lines were like a smooth flow. Nicely done dear poet

Dusk this brought back memories that have been buried for a long time.

Oh so sweet. You pretty much made me cry for those days. One exception for us. Mom didn't have time to check behind the ears on Monday morning. Four boys who had just fed the cows and pigs and collected the eggs. Bus at 7 am. Best to you!
