you came to me in the shower today.
I closed my eyes to wash my face but instead I saw yours
I scrubbed my skin raw trying to rid my body of your memory
my neck
which was once your lips resting spot
my hands
which you promised to always hold
my soles
which eagerly walked through life with you
hair wet. heart weak.
I mournfully watched as our love poured down the drain

I can so relate to your nuances, dear Poet
thanks for sharing
(love taints
then its, tethers
linger
and try as we might
new shower gel or perfume
its scents, still haunt
mercilessly
till we're taking 2pm showers
while reliving 2am scenes...)
