Behind the walls

Inkdeep

The moment I let go,
I'm afraid you would see,
Someone that you'd rather not know.

It makes me shiver,
Even the thought of,
A world without you, no light in the blue.

The me behind the walls,
The one you so search for,
Is someone so undone, you won't know for one.

There are no smiles,
There are no tears,
It's a state of stature, somewhere I'm stuck.

And in fear I keep you,
At a distance, at bay,
For your worth is too much and to lose I'm afraid.

It won't be me,
The one to be ready,
To show you the me, I've kept so hidden.

So if you want to see,
The me so buried deep,
Take me by hand and lead me to me.

Then you'll see,
In none of my glory,
That I'm a simple being, with a tale, not a story.

And I'll let you read.
My pages to heart,
I'll let you be the one, to love or discern me.

Dear author, you are in captivity of a person whom you love very much. I think, first of all, you need to release your loved one in order to understand whether this is real love but not a devilish addiction. That's a very difficult question.

The theme is actually of a person afraid of letting themselves known in not just their glory but their scars. There is fear of being inadequate or that feeling of being 'not enough'. That is actually the idea. Whether to let them go or to want them to stay, is another idea altogether. Thank you for taking the time to comment. 🙂
