On the Shore

Roohi

All the heartaches inside a treasure box

Be Quiet! Or else they will throw rocks

Under the neon sky with a heart full of darts

How well she hides pain was no surprise at all

Each night was heavier than the one before

She prayed kneeling down on the shore

Prayed to make her heart pain no more

With painful sighs buried inside

She wouldn’t tell on him that she was love-deprived

Tears were her greatest friend

But keeping the smile on her face was the latest trend

So she smiled till her face gave up

She cried till her eyes dried up
