Sharing Glory in Broken Jars

L M Joys

A broken vessel cast away to a corner,
Splintered, smashed and severed.
Discarded for the fissures
on its fragmented body,
And crevices that emanate darkness.

Yet, like a thousand rays of brilliance,
Coming forth through the interstices
of arching trees,
So is His glory revealed through

the shattered parts within me.

Though rejections and failures
make me perfectly broken,
My tarnished body and crumbled soul
will one day fly away,
To my Potter who is my Home.

And like the art of kintsugi,
In Him will I be made perfect,
In Him will I be glorious,
In Him will I be whole,
In Him will I rest.

I suppose at some point in our lives, we all need a bit kintsugi to get us back on solid ground.
