Open your Eyes

GabrielThePoet

the world's cruel kindness is scarce

I can't find anyone who cares

it's easier to throw in the towel and leave it all behind

because there is no one who's kind

Open your eyes!

Don't be telling yourself these lies!

I care

do you care?

I need you and your kindness

do you want me to call you my highness?

your life means the world to me

and i can't let this be

Open your eyes

I can't sit here and hear you cries

Please don't let this be goodbye

Both of your poems center on seeing an individuals struggle. I see you. My eyes are open and looking at what you have created. You are seen and understood. I hope knowing that brings you some comfort.
