Holding space

Simply Marie

Please don't try to fix me and change the way I am
It took so long to get here accept me if you can

If it seems at times my mood is dark please don't be afraid
It's just something that I'm going through it's gonna be OK

If you insist on making me a project it really won't work out
Your effort may negate my self esteem causing me to doubt

To stop and keep explaining just how I plan to process
May interfere with feelings im not really wanting to suppress them

Please have some faith in me to find my way to work it out
And know that I'll be stronger after this there really is no doubt

The way they say "hold space" for one is what I need from you
Attempting to stay positive with faith such a lovely thing to do

And then some day when there comes a time that you are feeling down
Please know I'll do the best I can to give the same until you come around
