The Ferry

L M Joys

Why are you afraid of me?

Each day you dread

that I may visit you,

Every illness flashes me

across your unchecked thoughts,

Everyday you are anxious

that I may call you.

But you don’t recall

that I will put an end

to the sorrows of this world,

That I am a ferry which

will take you onboard,

To the eternal Shore

of peace.

I can carry you to see

your Saviour face to face.

When your Father summons,

I will move you to your

forever Home.

Am I not beautiful then?

Am I not your friend?
