You, that expects money to replace affection
You, that expects greatness from a lonely girl
You think paper will replace attention
You think paper will make me whirl
These false promises fall on deaf ears
Caused by lies and betrayal throughout the years
Am I supposed to trust it’ll change?
Will you keep your promises if I walk away?
I love the man that makes time for me
I love the man that loves
I love the man that treats people kindly
And one who doesn’t place himself above
I love the man who kills me with a smile
The one who makes me quiver
I love the man that defends his wife
And lends his coat when he sees me shiver
If ever you understand that I’m a giver,
You’ll see this is wrong and might deliver
You, that expects me to endure the wrong direction
You, that I fear whenever you’re wrongly rubbed
You, the man that expects everything for nothing but rejection
You, the man I loved
