Last Dance

InvisibleMan

Have you ever hoped for a second chance,

To go back in time for a love embracing dance?

To hold the person you love and to embrace so near,

To whisper in their ear and to let go of all fear.

To share with them all of your weaknesses and faults,

To open your mind and to open your heart's vault.

To be vulnerable and endearing and to let the tears flow,

To hold them so close just so that they know.

As a weak man with a broken heart and a troubled mind,

I now realize it is love that can heal me in time.

But to realize this truth, I must acknowledge my hurts,

Understand all my actions and behavioural verse.

To spend time on my own and turn away from flight,

To seek out the help that I need and to amp up my fight.

We live in a world of hurt people, so many with broken dreams,

Living their lives in their minds filled with silent screams.

But all around us are resources and people that care,

People with time that they are willing to share.

If you are one of those like me, in need of help and looking for hope,

Reach out to those around us who can help us to cope.

And if I should be so lucky as to get a second chance,

I'll be better and stronger for this next chapter's dance.

And if it's more likely that no second chance comes my way,

Then at least I'm on a better path from which I won't stray.

And, finally, to my love for whom I hope for that second chance,

I just want to say thank you and that I'll always remember our very last dance.
