Panic

sorenbarrett

A sense of urgency with no place to go

Imminence but uncertainty a notion of woe

A storm brewing no hope of subduing

Uneasiness pours through locked doors

A sixth sense alerts of an unknown foe

Creeping trepidation begins to overflow

Impending doom I cannot quite place... Thankfully once I declined the medication, it disappeared. A well written reminder of a terrible time. Thanks Soren.

Thanks Dave for the read. It's better if you can't remember. Medication tends to do that to a person.

As with night terrors and anxiety attacks, the sheerness of unadulterated panic is often unexplainable to the mind! Thanks Soren

        what a relatable distillation
        at once offering a comprehensive
        description
        and simultaneously, invoking remembrance
        of our own experiences..
really well executed, a great write!
        thanks for sharing, dear Poet

Soren,Your poem explores feelings of anxiety and trepidation in the face of an impending but uncertain threat. It captures the essence of living with a sense of foreboding and an inability to escape from the emotional turmoil that accompanies such feelings. Yet your poem aims to articulate the often unspoken feelings of anxiety that accompany the unknown, providing a voice to those who may feel isolated in their fears. It seeks to evoke empathy and understanding in the reader, highlighting the shared human experience of facing uncertainty.

Thanks so much for the read of this older piece. Indeed such is the trigger to panic.
