Within The Silence

Kurt Philip Behm

Regretting a dream

…Folies Bergere

Exhaling the magic

Marseille in despair

Seeking forgiveness

Vive Champs elysees

Mimes feigning answers

Montmartre chardonnay

    aye, dear Poet kin
    how world weary, wise
    indeed, may it always be
    endings
    with clinking Chardonnay's
    and shared words or silences
between heart's, that have long learnt
to beat to a steady rhythm
    even devoid of fluttering hope
    to pulse, easy
    knowing
be it in our years of hurried striving
    or stagnated, waiting
life is coming to us steadily, we merely
need to ride the waves of Time
    and promise ourselves
we've done enough, in that very act
of accumulating, our very next breath
    all else, is chaos entwined
    fate
and very much, out of our hands...
    very much
