Tune: Carol (Willis) / Noel

('It came upon the midnight clear')

Isaiah 9 v.6-7

*********

For unto us a child is born

Revealed on Christmas morn

Unto us is given a son

Jesus Christ, He the one

The government shall be upon

His shoulders, compare none

And here we do His name express

The Son of God no less

His name shall be called Wonderful

Showing great deeds to all

And too His name be Counsellor

To Him we may refer

For wisdom, guidance through each day

He be the Life, Truth, Way

The Mighty God, the e'erlasting

Father, salvation brings

He be the Prince of Peace, increase

Of His kingdom ne'er cease

No end of His government, peace

His throne shall ne'er decrease

He shall it order, establish

As be His Father's wish

Rule with justice and judgement e'er

Zeal of the Lord seen there

Even if I belong to Hinduism, I love Jesus. All doctrines of Jesus are true.
    May God bless you, poet.

You've chosen one of my favorite Christmas songs to accompany this lovely poem. When I think of the nativity, I think of the awakening of human conscience, love, kindness in the person of Jesus, and that is a beautiful thing. Thank you dear friend.
