On the Verge of Another New Year
Just look at all those pinched faces
in all the wrong places
Wide eyed and with so much to fear
With frost in the air and no pennies
to spare ..
Each praying, for a happy New Year

A thoughtful write N.
I never thought you would make me smile with such a thoughtful response .. thank you Orchidee 🙂
Not to poke fun at the real situation, but that'll be me soon, living with KP. Doh!
Your well rhymed lines strike the right chords better than any media reports my caring friend - - how sad the same hopeless conditions many folk face will remain as another new year approaches - -- a a potent write...........x
Bless you Fay .. have a FAB weekend my friend & here's wishing you and yours a groovy, happy, healthy and safe New Year ... x
Here's to Happy Holidays and a bright and Happy New Year to you and all N.
I second that proposal cheers AP .. N 🙂
Maybe we just start the new year with an act of kindness or love and see where it can take us? I sometimes fantasize that if the whole of mankind did a kind act all at the same time it could change the world. You strike at the conscience dear friend, right where we need to be hit. Bravo!
what a lovely thought you have left for me here Bella .. now that my friend would truly be the Christmas present of Christmas presents ... x
I doubt any Xmas card publisher would buy it, Nev (you may have to keep your day job for a while yet), but it certainly has a certain resonance for me.
Sadly & ever so, I totally agree Dave ........... cheers 🙂
as much a prayer, as a poem of awareness
Amen!
may fate afford as much kindness
to those
most in need of a little reprieve...
bless your kind heart, Hyung
a sentiment empathetically worded, at this challenging time of year
