Mary, virgin holy

Mother of our Lord be

As Isaiah's prophecy sure

She was favoured for evermore

There that little family

Low at the manger-stall, see

She not just a young maid

But through her was displayed

God's power, Jesus He did not

Share sin of human nature's lot

Yet full human He be

And too divine fully

God in His plan to man* (*mankind)

Works as only He can

Breaks the human ancestry line

Birth of His Son, it be the sign

That man born from above

May be now, in God's love

Our descent natural

It from Adam, Eve all

Since they sinned there, garden Eden

So we did all inherit then

Sinful nature, but see

We can be born again free
