Mommy can you answer me
‘cause I been thinking recently
maybe there’s something I don’t see?
I was sitting in the class today
overheard Tommy Pickles say
he hadn’t eaten since yesterday
Now I really didn’t want to pry
but you bought me up to question why
and something inside me felt like dying
So I waited til the coast was clear
kept Tommy Pickles somewhere near
with no one there, I bit Tommys ear
Said ‘Tommy, please don’t think I’m rude’
‘I promise my intentions good’
‘sit right here, share my food’
He sat right down, took a bite
I didn’t eat, it didn’t feel right
‘cause I knew I would eat tonight
With a belly full, his smile replaced
that sunken look upon his face
I felt like crying, I gotta say
Now I’ve heard you say that life ain’t fair
seen you pray, and shed a tear
but mommy, does Santa really care?
Comments1
who cares?
when we can become Santa's
in that one, deed
(beautiful sentiments
what words of empathy and hope
to put out into this callous world
thank you! kind Poet
wield your empathy, as bravely
as you cultivate meaning
within your wonderful poetry
stay strong! this world is extra hard
for those who seek sincerity's path...)
So kind of you to take the time to show appreciation, thank you most sincerely
