staring into my own reflection,
do i know this person?
what do they like?
being distant to yourself brings many troubles,
not knowing yourself is one of them
not knowing what you want in life even though you are in the middle of it
they say it's never too late to find your way,
but what if you will never find it
Do I know this person in the reflection,
or have I just cut them out of their own life for too long?
Do I know this person in the reflection,
or have I just avoided to getting to know them?
Do I know this person in the reflection,
or have I let myself go too much?

your worst, may be a favourite for someone else
keep inking, whenever Poesy's muse visits
irrespective of outcome, do it for yourself first foremost
you have an insightful voice
that can offer solace
to those fated to heed your words..
thanks for sharing, dear poet
(I couldn't help, but hear these lines
from India Arie's song ' a private party'
in your words:
''I'm having a private party
Ain't nobody here but me, my angels, and my guitar, singin'
Baby, look how far we've come, yeah
I'm havin' a private party
Learning how to love me
Celebrating the woman I've become, yeah
I'm gonna take off all my clothes
Look at myself in the mirror
We're gonna have a conversation
We're gonna heal the disconnection
I don't remember when it started
But this is where it's gonna end'')
thank you so much for this comment. I really appreciate that!
No better time than the present to begin to know yourself. And poetry a great way to investigate.
