To little me

For the way that they behaved I've learned how you deserved so much more

The way you tried to navigate those years when there was no way to be assured 

That you were loved and that you matter and how you deserved a life thats good

These are just some of the things I would have told you then only if I could 

I would also tell you how you are smart and how you can create a happy life

And I would remind you just how strong you are at those times when there is strife 

I would also say that you are pretty especially when you have a smile

I would show you how to feel your joy knowing that you watch me all the while

To look for cues from mom I know now it's  just a thing a baby does

The most important cue I want for you to see now is the way you are so loved
