Toxic family ties

Simply Marie

Thoughts of those who would deny acknowledgement of good

Taught to value yourself

no they never would

Say we just can't have her

becoming full of herself

We like to degrade her

relegate esteem to the shelf

We didn't know anything of

psychological projection

Still wouldn't have a clue

perpetrated harm or when

Priority for us appearring

that we are so accomplished

Serving almighty denial

truth is then demolished

Call her a liar again

attempt intimidation tactics

Instill fear in her eyes

extort acquiescence for facts

Without reaction from her

thier internal struggle ensues

Can't scare silence in her mind

what next will they do

Find a drink or a drug

escape from themselves

No problem for me now

embracing truth in myself

Most truthful words

a younger self dared to speak

Save yourself and cut ties

And learn to live free
