Hope

Shreya Banerjee

Pondering over him i see at a glance   he is the one to be loved from a distance

Neither for my cape he is the feather

Nor does my heart wants us to be together

The trapdoors opened by the ruthless trails

Make our greatest uncertainties prevail

a notion we carry to blame at ease ,that our marriage brought us only miseries

Our fickle minds of conflicting  choices

A perpetual abhorrence in our voices

I wander like swarm in the waves of doubts

Against the insecurities that come in bouts

I see this universe as a lonely breeze

The sense of Hiraeth that makes me freeze

My timid soul gets no place to curl

Above the myths and illusions of the world

Soon I begin to slip into the slumber

To find an old  lady in her timeless encumber

I see a senile man apace with her

On a lazy couch  about to wither

In a vicinity full of cracks and clutter

They vision and balance constantly flutter

Their fatigued minds are so much demented

But still hold on to the values they protracted.

her man fetching her a glass of wine

Still has a command on the lights of fine dine

Her shaky hands still cook out of pleasure

Since the gratitude has forever not known any measure

The Cabernet chianti and charming night

Reconciling each others age old plights

He finally falls for the past strings and melodies

And forgets ,forgives and find remedies

My life sails to see that day

Uprooting all hurdles that come our ways.
