It’s Your Theme

It’s Your Theme

Imagination rustles in the breeze

Secrets revealed in the whisper of trees

Tantalizing tales told at dusk’s birth

Soon darkness envelopes this side of the earth

Veiling understanding to all its reasons

Ushering in the coming of night seasons

Here in the dark you hear your heart beat

And summon the courage to finally defeat

Those demons that whisper in your ear

Trying to bring you down through your fear

At last a song is heard at dawns light

Playing the theme of your victorious fight

    I don't know why
but after reading that last line
    I recalled
the great, late (may he rest in peace)
    Robin Williams, screaming
    'good morning, Vietnam'
    in that iconic role
    that depiction of a joyous
    fun loving radio jockey
trying to offer a semblance of normalcy
and a shard of hope and gaiety
    in amongst war's vile reality..
    admittedly, comparing
festive depression to a time of war
    is an ignorant gesture
somehow though, I feel the threads
    align, at some level..
(a brilliant message and a wonderful read
    thanks for sharing dear poet)
