Arrange all the letters together,
Give birth to the words—how clever
Write stories that live on forever
But, there’s always a writer who’s better
The artist mixes her paints
Gentle strokes, both bold and faint
A beautiful scene, she will create
But, can her piece just be replaced?
The builder lays the foundation
With a lot of determination
His project reaches completion
But, many build sturdy creations
Oh dear friends, we can’t affordTo not continue moving forward
When words unheard and unplayed chords
Are not performed for all the world
So write for us with fingers, so calloused
Paint our world from your colorful palette
Build us shelter with skill and your mallet
Your gifts are needed, don’t bury your talent

Brilliant!
your words, nourish
all those starving heart's
at that nucleus of creativity's
majority, unappreciated..
bless you, kind Poet
Thank you! I appreciate that 🙂
I accept the call to all creative natures with gratitude. Of course, there will always be people with more talented and original minds. I think that all the splendor is in the variety of talents. Thank you. Dig deep.
Thank you for taking time to read. This thought came to me as I was re-reading Jesus’ parable of the talents in Matthew (referring to money, but I read it this time as “talents”). What stuck with me was “don’t bury your talent.” And I agree…the variety of talents is where all the beauty lies. Thanks again.
