What's gets me most is how they strap
a gun and wrap a flag
Around a kid who knows no better that there's another way
Behind a desk shouldered bars and stars big wigs to back you up
Sending kids to foreign lands programmed defending rights
I've looked real hard through that bill for rights that don't exist
A place that says I can steal your oil just because my gun is big
Does it piss you off to hear the truth
or should I just be quiet
Will you plot my death and call me names and tell them im a traitor
Now here's the thing consider hard the way you dont agree
It's OK there will be times I dont agree and won't like what you say
But I always will defend your right to say those words I do not need a gun
I still believe that speech is free may it always stay that way
Like how the founders planned for us when they wrote it down
Constitutional rights is what they fought before your greed was craving oil
Kids got killed and some were maimed
did you think about the family
The one you said that they fought for
no you just wanted oil
And here you go dispursing shame making lots of noise
How dare i say whats on my mind as if I have that right
You can say what you believe there is no need to fight
But as for those with greed they hide
behind a flag and shouldered shiny stripes
I won't believe a word you say when it's just a ploy to sell your latest book
Represent again what they fought back then a choice between integrity and tyranny
