Summer Was Better Here

Mr. Not

When we bathed in rivers
And dried on the roads

As we screamed and joked as the cars drove past

And as the water left footprints on the hot asphalt
And human sized shapes that had been laying on the ground
The truck that honked
But we lay down again
Because the road is warm
More comfortable than the path of stone

And as the mosquitoes bit and the breezeflies scared

I remember when the summer was better here
