You were the one
Who changed my life
And I was the one who
Saw you as a forever wife
But it didn’t turn out that way
And I never expected it to
That don’t mean that I
Stopped dreaming of you
Cause every year you’ve been
On my Christmas wish list
To see you and hear your sweet voice
It’s you Sharon I’ll always miss
Now again it’s Christmas Eve
And you’re on my mind
Can’t help but think of you
With love it happens every time
We all make Christmas wishes
Sometimes they even come true
And mine go out every year
Hoping that yours will too

A powerful write A.P. - Such a heart-tugging read this piece of raw longing for time to go backwards when Christmas comes round - a pathos-touched ode yet clearly showing that love can still hope.
Thanks Fay, it's always been my hope that I'd see Sharon again, but never an expectation. She was my first and will be my last love.
A poignant write AP. Meanwhile - just call me Sharon! lol.
Sorry Orchi, there's only one Sharon in my life. 😜
I do hope Sharon is reading your words AP.
Merry Christmas.
Andy
That'd be a dream come true. Thanks Andy and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Thanks N, Happy New Year to you and yours. 😊
Beautiful poem. Sharon must be a very special lady. I couldn't help but notice Karen Carpenter's Marry Christmas Darling. It is my favorite Christmas carol of them all.
Thank you Jeannie, yes Sharon is a very special lady. I haven't seen her since 1971 @ 14 years old (and I'm now 66), but she made her first impact on me @ 10 years old on the first day of school in fifth grade September 6, 1967. I've no idea where she is today, but I know I've been blessed to know this love for her. Some think it's sad, but I don't. Reminds me of one poem I wrote near the beginning of my poetry here of "Let Love Leed the Way". Thanks again. Have a great day.
