Let me sew into your brain a few seeds
Gifts come plentiful to some
But do they equate to our needs?
Will a gift save you
When the heart bleeds?
Good deeds
Mean more
Than what you can buy
In the store
Christmas time is here
The day is drawing near
Christian or Pagan?
Lend me your ear
Nobody knew
When Jesus was born
It's all about Saturnalia
I feel torn
Does anyone think to look
Where this holiday came from?
It was Pagan first
Retrofitted to Christian later
Science can't explain all when
God is the true creator

Yes - we don't actually know if He was born on Dec 25th or not.
Saturnalia, held in mid-December, is an ancient Roman pagan festival honoring the agricultural god Saturn. Because of when the holiday occurred—near the winter solstice—Saturnalia celebrations are the source of many of the traditions we now associate with Christmas, such as wreaths, candles, feasting and gift-giving.
This is the real reason pal, they just kept it going.
