in the wilds

queer-with-a-pen

i’ll tell the mountains,

the stars,

and the sea,

what you mean to me

laying myself down on

green grass still wet with

morning dew,

i’ll pick flowers and

think of you

and while these hands

of mine are not steady

enough for daisy chains,

i’d like to think that you’d

let me tuck one behind

your ear anyway

and wouldn’t that be something?

because i have loved you so,

with everything i have

and everything i lacked

i wonder if you feel that love,

projected out from this

foolish and hopeful heart of mine,

curling down the miles

that separate me from you

i’d draw you closer if i could,

try to convince myself that

i don’t have to apologize for the

viciousness of my love,

how deeply entrenched i seem to be

even so, i know that the mountains,

the stars,

and the sea

will hold me down

and back from that steep

cliffside of my desire

where i toe the line

of taking the plunge

and laying back on the grass

for just a little longer

Poetry is pouring out your pen these days, my friend! Yet another beautifully written love poem!

Very proud of this one! I don’t really try to rhyme in my writing, but was pleasantly surprised at the stanzas that did. I’m planning to eventually compile these poems into a chapbook for my muse.

Always good to hear from you, my friend!

      Brilliant!
