A sense of choice

Simply Marie

While using anger as protection

May invite interpretation as rejection

Does feeling sadness makes you weaker

or does it build a human character

And what are all those instincts

about fighting,flight,freeze or fawn

And still other things are needed as protection when dealing in deflection

Stored in the attic of my mind

another forgotten lost and found

To clear this stuff that hinders life becomes a sacred rite

Take those things no longer needed

put them where they need to be

A dusty exploration begins a

messy process worthwhile in the end

While it may intimidate this mind

my soul rejoices everytime

Beyond the angst I choose to reach

for the truest part of me

Some things will be discarded

while others are embraced

Whats valued most of all to me

a personal sense of choice
