Dancing In The Dark

Jasmine Swift

Our 5th night, I’ll always remember. The 17th night of September.

Your ocean blue eyes looked into mine. Boy, you made me feel like I might sink, drown, and die.

Of my true feelings, you became curious. But even from the start, we knew this thing was serious.

I tried to go with my head, but my heart won the fight. That’s when 6 months was at its best, beginning at Midnight.

Now that we live 1 hour apart, I just wish we could’ve kept dancing in the dark.

Every night, I look back on it all. From the first scene, to when for each other, we started to fall.

Then, it was October 29th. 6 months was celebrated on that night.

Our friends tell stories of our love like a folklore. And I keep hoping this will be forevermore.

I couldn’t be happier that my heart won the fight. Our love grows stronger with every kiss at Midnight.

In the time that we are apart, I remember the nights we spent dancing in the dark.
