Suffocating

PurpleGlasses

A torrent of emotion
Racing the wind
The coldness it brings with it
It pierces the skin

The freight of the impact
It freezes you in place
Binds you to the ground
Binds you to your fate

Along with the Flora
The avalanche swallows you hole
Burrows you complete
Choking you slow

Why don't you shuffle
Climb out of the snow ?
There is so little
Is all of this show ?

Don't you see that this snowball
Of yours is not mine
It started rowling
And growing over time

All in all
It starts with my thoughts
Yet it's impact on my body
Is a source of my worry

This cascade of fear
Controls my life
Stops me from doing
The thinks that I like

I love the element of the avalanche in this one. Very fitting for how anxiety can feel...

        Thanks for the read 🙂

Why do you think the avalanche is a fitting analogy?

        • coffee & cigs

Actually, your second verse hits it perfectly, I think. The paralyzing, heavy weight on the chest, the taking of the whole body, the defenselessness in the face of such force...
