Tit-for-Tat

Gary Edward Geraci

Yeah, I pray it all
Will go away; I struggle
To be so grateful
If it does not; tit-for-tat,
Immortal, glorified life.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Tanka. Only lacking the daily contemplation of our final destiny could it be, in perception, tit-for-tat. A Happy New Year to you and yours!

I felt led to write a hymn-poem on not 'praying it all away' if we don't like what we're attempting to pray away.
I still pray certain things will or will not happen though. Erm, apart from some obvious things. Praying to win the Lottery? Hmm, some do! lol.

I too pray that you win the lottery, my friend. Happy New Year, O!

More chance of being run over by a bus than winning the lottery, prayer or no prayer?!
Dang it, I wish I'd seen that No.7 bus coming! heehee.

I came back here to sneak an edit in - line six only had six syllables instead of the requisite seven (traditional Tanka).
