Bitter Sweet

Michela Vismara

Bittersweet

I walk along these shores,

As though I was never yours,

My feet are sunk in sand,

Stuck between sea and land.

I walk along this beach,

water and earth, together then each,

with footprints left in the sand

How bittersweet is this land?
