A Purpose To Live

undreamed_friend

You need a purpose to live.
I had three
One for love,
One for friends,
One for family.
How could I lose everything in a swift?
Was it a dream?
I asked, with a heart so broken,
But there was no one to answer long for seconds.
So I wanted to sleep.
Where is my home?
I asked so sweet.
At last, I realized
I lost the purpose to live.

  • Comment from author about the poem: We all need a purpose to live. Once it is fulfilled or lost, we start getting depressed and lose our purpose to live. So it is always better to have a new purpose before the previous one finishes.

I like the way you combined your poem with an explanation of the meaning of it. A poem can sometimes be only fully appreciated only by help of a comment. I think this compliments your work, your poem and in no way detracts from it. Maybe more modern poets should follow your example. Keep up the good work!

We always need a purpose to live,
    Once that is firmly established,
Then, we can easily carry on life,
    Like Edison making new inventions,
We must create a purpose surely,
    Thanks for your useful poem.
