The Colourful Kind of Psychotic

12th Forest

Shapes and colours drift in my eyes

Flying around like bees.

People are lovely jumbles of colour,

Faces impossible to see.

They’re here and there,

I see muted outlines of animals

Prancing all around.

The girl in my vision tall,

The pure embodiment of beauty and grace.

She’s colourful too.

Hues of reds and pinks,

Purples, blues, greens,

Yellow and oranges mixed in.

With deep, black eyes.

A rainbow girl.

She fills my sight.

Golden and silver glowing butterflies

Fly around my head.

They circle the girl

Floating specks of yellow brilliance

Float around the space.

Arches of soft blues and greens

Flare around,

Magnificence.

Turning slowly in a circle,

I see colourful life everywhere, then

The girl’s face fills my vision completely.

It all fades to black slowly.

I open my eyes once more

And realise,

I am sitting on my bed in my room

Looking at the mind-numbing white walls

And grey floor

Of my room in the psych ward.
