That Land Far Away

Jon4324

My heart so yearns for that land far away,

knowing that glory will surround me one day.

Though my soul  exists in the here and the now,

a new world awaits me, to God I will bow.

Oh, how I long for that land far away,

Patient, yet eager, I will arrive there one day.

Peace overcomes me while in prayer I kneel,

in time He will call me when my life is fulfilled.

One day I will be in that land far away,

I have work to accomplish, therefore I must stay.

So hard to imagine where I am now,

the Lord will sustain me to move forward somehow.

He will never forsake me, and I will not stray,

as I long for the comfort in that land far away.

My life is unworthy of His mercy and grace,

I repent of my sins so I may see His sweet face.

As I look forward to peace in my heart until then,

I continue in faith, until my earthly life ends.

My heart, my longing, and my hope will not sway,

from rejoicing in worship in that land far away.

My job is not finished, there are fields I must plow,

to bear fruit of the Spirit, there are seeds I plant now.

I cannot be discouraged, I cannot be dismayed,

for one day He will call me to that land far away.
