Easy Money

Easy money
And so much of it
It's hard to find enough ways to spend
Easy money
I'm so proud of it
I just hope it never comes to an end

I've got all that I could ask for
But I really want much more
Credit cards, government money, and welfare
To give it away, they're breaking down my door
If not me someone else would get it
I'd be a fool to refuse
And if I need to, I'll take bankrupt
So I got nothin' in this world to lose

I've bought things to make me happy
And I've even spent some on my friends
To my wife money is a turn on
I don't think that that's a sin
I guess that now I'm a rich man
And I'm glad to know how that feels
Don't you think if we all had money
No one would ever want to steal

Easy money
And so much of it
It's hard to find enough ways to spend
Easy money
I'm so proud of it
I just hope it never comes to an end

I know I'm not responsible
And I don't claim to be
But why should anything matter
When everything's almost free
The day will never come
When I will have to pay
And I'll always take my share
When any money's give away

Easy money
And so much of it
It's hard to find enough ways to spend
Easy money
I'm so proud of it
I just hope it never comes to an end

(and yet, how many que outside foodbanks
    every night
    how many university students
    sleep in their cars
    after working three part-time jobs
    just to pay for lessons
that can't guarantee them career's, but
    saddle them with debts
before they're deemed old enough to drink...)
you shine a light, on an aspect of modernity
that none of us want to contemplate...
thanks for sharing, a great read
