Wish you they changed? Attuned their purr?
With “gallant” hand dare rumple fur?
Wick short of patience with barbed lure
For frays time sparse, claws tucked, demure
Calm, frigid silence may endure
To slink away choice well-nigh sure
Abound fish wiser to procure…
Yet when pride stayed, things less obscure
Pray freed your paws from noxious burrs
Absolved both hearts, not too mature
Stirred not, serenity adjures
