eleanor martinson

open the window to let in a breeze

perfume, Chanel, 1983

papers flood my bedroom floor

hair in a whirl, slamming the door

coated in limelight I lay on my bed

whirlwinds of words fly through my head

stories conceived in notebooks laid empty

paint thrown on the wall, aplenty

drowning in Sticky notes for a buck ninety-nine

write it all out before I run out of time
