X's And O's

Jane Frye

X's & O's

I think about you day and night.

Mama shakes her head and says, "That ain't right."

I send you texts all day long

to let you know our love is strong.

I talk about you in all my conversations;

to strangers, friends, and relations.

I think about you day and night.

Papa shakes his head and says, "That ain't right."

My joyful heart I can't contain

On a crowded New York Street it starts to rain.

I throw my arms out and I shout,

"I'M IN LOVE AND I DON'T CARE.

LET THE RAIN RUIN MY HAIR."

I think about you day and night.

My cousin shakes her head and says,

"That ain't right."

I send you pictures of venues, white dresses, and possible menus.

So much to plan.

But, I can do anything as long as I'm holding your hand.

I think about you day and night.

My brother shakes his head and says, "That ain't right."

Using Photoshop and the pictures of you I took,

I dream of how our children will look.

I practice writing my new name.

To be this lucky in love is so insane.

I think about you day and night.

My friends shake their heads and say, "That ain't right."

I invited your mother to fly in for a visit.

I found her on Facebook and I sent her a ticket.

I'm going to love your family, and they're going to love me.

You just wait and see.

I think about you day and night.

My psychiatrist shakes her head and says, "That ain't right."

I know it's fate!

And I cant wait

for you to ask me on a second date.

Deliriously Yours!
