FAREWELL

nephilim56

YOU WHO ONCE BORE BEAUTY
NOW FADED AS THE RAIN
WITH PASSING YEARS IN WILD ARRAY
LIKE WORDS THAT DRAINED TOO FAR AWAY

YES YOU WHO ONCE WITH TENDERNESS
IN TWILIGHT PASSED THE ROOM
ITS DIM LIGHT PLAYED WITH YOUR HAIR
AS DID THE WATCHING MOON

AND YOU WHO ONCE WITH TEARS AFLOW
PLACED YOUR HEAD UPON MY SHOULDER
LIFTED UP MY WEARY SOUL
MADE ME FEEL SO MUCH STRONGER

YES YOU WHO ONCE IN MIDNIGHTS MOMENT
PRESSED YOUR HEART SO CLOSE TO MINE
YOU WHO GAVE SO MUCH TO ME
BUT COULD NOT TURN BACK TIME.
