How To Compliment You (1-10-23 @6:26pm)

Christ

How to compliment you,

I wouldn’t know how.

Words can’t do you justice,

Paintings pale in comparison

no matter how

they claim to be masterpieces.

Have they not seen you?

You are the utter quixotic beauty

the ineffable and impalpable

The remarkable vision

my eyes are privileged to see.

I do apologize

for the lack of my words,

For my eyes are the ones

screaming the words

that haven’t been created for you yet.

Maybe if thoughts could express themselves,

You’d understand a bit more.

Although the wonders

in my head

about you

might make you scared,

You’re strikingly stunning,

achingly so.

How to compliment you,

I still don’t know how.

But this poem is for you,

And this is meant as a compliment.
